The Company
Coachbit delivers a science-backed study skills and life coach program through personalized content and accountability with real coaches. Our solution is based on habit changing interventions that create lasting positive behaviors for tweens and teens. We help families prepare their kids for life!
The Role
Coachbit is looking for a Sr. UX/Product Designer to help redesign our mobile learning experience for our customers. You’ll work with the product, curriculum, and engineering teams to create a world-class experience. These teams create products for the students, their parents, and the coaches that serve them. You will review current research as well as perform your own to ensure the product reduces churn, improves behavioral outcomes, and increases customer life-time value. Needless to say, it’s gonna be a lot of fun!
The Day-to-day
Work with the Product, Engineering and Design teams to distill complicated problems into simple solutions in a (basically new) mobile Coachbit app experience.
Partner with our Curriculum team to identify problems, test solutions, and learn about our customer’s pain points and the oh-so-sweet solutions that ease them!
Advocate for the customer (tweens and teens that need to change their study and life habits). This is done by deep research, insights, and regular contact with both the student and their parents.
Rapidly iterate product concepts through user testing, high fidelity designs and prototypes, user journey maps, storyboards, and more
Work closely with product management and engineering teams to implement designs
Maintain and continuously improve Coachbit's mobile app component library, clearly documenting patterns and ensuring consistent implementation of the system throughout our app
Use Sketch, Figma and other modern design tools to design, prototype, and communicate your ideas clearly, get rapid feedback, and ensure a high degree of execution on final solutions
Qualifications
A beautiful portfolio of work in which you can articulate the ways you were principally responsible
Demonstrated situations in which your product designs and experiences were directly responsible for major business outcomes like reduced churn, customer acquisitions, customer lifetime value, etc.
A strong plus if you have designed mobile learning experiences for teenagers
A strong ability to implement holistic gamification principles (the kind that creates value and foster positive motivation and authentic incentives for teens)
Ability to simplify complicated problems into simple and measurable solutions
Knock-your-socks off design skills
Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of equivalent practical work experience
Someone who thrives when they are working on multiple projects
Desire and ability to empathize with users, understand and think through their problems, and find solutions for them
A willingness to learn from prior research, interviews, and recordings to improve decision making
Experience in common tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or ProtoPie (experience with other prototyping tools is a bonus)
Experience designing for native mobile apps (both Android and iOS) with an understanding of their differences and similarities
An understanding of the technical limitations and liberties behind your design decisions and the ability to communicate your ideas to key stakeholders, the design team, and project team
A desire to work on a team of the international software engineers, designers, product and project managers
Oh…and you love learning. Like, it is marrow deep.
